Jonathan's latest aspirations

Jonathan was sitting on my lap (supposedly going to sleep) and we started talking about things. Derek mentioned the military and we were explaining that Daddy will be gone a lot more when we get to Alaska. Jon thought for a minute, then said, "That's why I don't want to be in the military." I said, "Oh, that's good." Then he added, "I want to work at Pizza Hut." Derek told him he should rethink the military.

Nina's missing tooth & DJ's not-missing tooth

Nina lost her second tooth in the car one night a few weeks ago. Since I'd forgotten to take a picture of her first missing tooth, I took a picture of this one. DJ needed a picture of his tooth that wasn't missing.

DJ's bodily functions:

"A fart is your bum burping."

After burping, "My mouth just farted."

This is an experiment: We are looking for cameras for our kids to use this summer as we travel. I want to see if this is good enough for you all to see. I know the quality is not high. It just needs to be fun for them and usable for scrapbooking.

My Playoff Predictions

The Stanley Cup playoffs begin tonight, so I thought that I would make some predictions since all the "experts" are doing the same on many online sites such as Yahoo Sports and ESPN.com. So here we go:
In the East:
Bruins VS Canadians --Boston in 6
Capitals VS Rangers --Caps in 6
Devils VS Hurricanes --Canes in 5
Penguins VS Flyers --Flyers in 6

In the West:
Sharks VS Ducks --Sharks in 5
Red Wings VS Blue Jackets --Jackets in 6
Canucks VS Blues --Blues in 6
Black Hawks VS Flames -- Flames in 7

The Capitals will emerge out of the East and the Sharks will emerge out of the West. The Sharks will win their first Stanley Cup and I won't be there to see it because I'll be in training after game 2 the the Stanley Cup Finals....some luck.

Why? Cause it's my favorite color.
10. What is something unusual that happened to you in the last year? Gone swimming in Korea last summer. (It was actually two summers ago.)

Did you note the face Nina was pulling in the picture? This is the 'sad' face. The mad face looks very similar (only, surprisingly, angrier). But she's not the only one in our house doing it. She's so influential that several of us have picked up on it. But it's still definitely Nina's "face." One morning DJ was pulling this face, angry version. Suddenly he stopped and said, "I'm making Nina's angry face!"

1. Where were you born? In the car, actually I was sleeping in the car when I was born there.
Were you really born in the car? Mmhmm, because I love our new green car.

4. Do you have a special pet or favorite toy? I have a Spiderman game
5. Who is your favorite singer? When Naomi grows up can she sing? (I repeated the question.) I don't know, maybe Michael.
6. Who is your best friend? Naomi
7. What games do you like to play? Star Wars Wii
8. Do you belong to any clubs? There's a club in the hosbibble (hospital)
9. If you were an animal, which one would you like to be? Giraffe, maybe I would be a father giraffe.
Why? Because I love giraffes and giraffes are nice.
10. What is something unusual that happened to you in the last year? Umm, I just peed in my bed.
11. What are your things to do? Umm, grow up
12. How many different houses have you lived in? Umm, I don't know, maybe it's Jacob's.
13. When you grow up, what would you like to do or be? Maybe I would want to have a name which was David. That's just like my name.
14. Name a person you admire. Umm, Parrison (Harrison)
Why? Because there's only one guy who's Parrison with yellow hair. Well, when I would grow up, I would think like I was Parrison.
15. How old are you? Three.
What can three-year-olds do? They can just pick up things that are heavy.

Though this interview was done a few days ago, I just had to add an anecdote from today:

Roy came to visit on his way to Utah, so DJ was, of course, a cowboy. I asked him what he was going to be when he grew up. Before he could answer, Roy suggested he might grow up to be a turtle. After some thought, he concluded he would not be a turtle. He told us, "When I grow up I will be a cow." After all, he won't be a boy anymore...

Fun Fact about Jonathan: Jon is fascinated with water towers. They are everywhere in Oklahoma -- normally labeled with the name of the city they are in. Shortly after moving here, while watching HGTV, Jonathan and I saw a water tower that had been converted into a home. Since then, one of Jon's dreams is to grow up and live in a water tower.
