Kindergarten Graduation (last Friday)

So, life is a bit crazy around our house right now and my poor blog is suffering. I'll try to get a few things updated, but don't expect much from me for a while. Next week our stuff is being packed and moved. We'll be leaving here on the 4th and arriving in Utah around the 9th. Derek starts training on the 7th. We're getting very excited to see family so soon! We're also very glad that Uncle Roy is going to be traveling up with us. We're planning to make it a bit of a mini-vacation. It's more fun that way!

Hunting for Candy-filled Eggs!

You know it's the candy that makes the whole event. Our kids sure enjoyed theirs!

Naomi got in on the action, too (and made us laugh in the process). So this is what the Easter Bunny feels like...

Cool Alaska Factoid

I see that Jenn put some cool Alaska facts on the sidebar, so I decided to post a picture to give people an idea of just how big the state is.

At the bottom of the image it says:
Alaska: 663,267 SQ miles
Texas, California, Montana: 567,264 SQ miles

If it were possible to drive the western most islands to the eastern leg of Alaska, it would be the equivalent of driving from San Fransisco, CA to Jacksonville, FL.

How's that for perspective?

Janina's Kindergarten Field Trip: Zoo

Derek, Michael, DJ, Naomi and I joined Nina's class at the Oklahoma City Zoo on Feb 23rd. We saw as many animals as we could and had lots of fun.
The very calm-looking lioness decided to leap against the class and growl, scaring our kids to death.
We found the tigers (the map was cryptic, at best) in the nick of time... From here we booked it (as fast as one can book it with 5 children under age 6) back to the bus with two very happy little girls. They loved the zoo!

Thank goodness, it wasn't a Sharpie...

Spring Break: Yes, I know it was long ago

I do realize that several of these recent posts are from the past. I got very behind and am trying to hit some of the highlights. (I'm also looking for a good excuse not to be sorting and cleaning...)

Kendra and Trevor came to visit and we took a tour of the OU campus. The only sad part of the visit: DJ was running a fever and very miserable the whole time.
Jon, Nina and Michael decided to climb to the top of the football stadium. Since I was very concerned about them getting back down, Derek and I went up to get them. Then I was worried about me getting down. That was a LOT of stairs.
To say that football is popular in Norman, OK would be a massive understatement. Here is our family portrait in front of one of the memorialized Heisman winners.
OU imported their phone booths:

Jon's 1st Grade Field Trip: Natural History Museum

On April 3rd, the Kennedy 1st grade went to the Sam Noble Natural History Museum. I met them with my three little kids. We had a really good time -- obviously!
