Ice storms, we have been told, are the Oklahoma version of winter. They are certainly beautiful, but make for really frightening driving conditions. They also disrupt school and church, which really disturbs our children. Ours today got us out of speaking in church, though they didn't decide to cancel church until after we were there, so we did get to take the sacrament. Derek and I were not at all broken-hearted, but our kids, who had also been asked to speak, were very disappointed. Oh, the innocence of childhood.... (We haven't told them that school might get canceled tomorrow, too.)

So do you guys get snow too? That sounds like interesting weather conditions. We miss you guys here and Briaunna is always asking about Jonathon.
I was just talking to my visiting teaching partner the other day about how when I was growing up it seemed like school got cancelled all the time for snow. I can't imagine that happening here now!
Wow.. an ice storm. Huh. What's that like? We get all sorts of excited when it rains! How sad is that!?
Ice storms have their pretty side, but they leave only destruction in their wake. We have lost so many trees in just our neighborhood. Roads are blocked and power is still out in some areas. It's fun...
Lucky you....JJ and I still had to speak last Sunday. No ice storms for us!
I'd like to witness an ice storm. Sounds interesting and I'm glad it occured on a day that you would have had to speak. I'm always hoping for something to happen whenever I'm asked to speak so I can get out of it and instead it always lands on a day when the high councilman is there, the stake presidency decides to visit our ward, or there's a million people there for baby blessings (which in our ward is so often we don't do them just on fast sundays.) Yes, somehow I'm cursed. Glad for you though!
Where are you Jenn? We would love to hear from you...
I'm with Kelly- we need an update! :)
