The date has been set...

...unless I can induce this baby to come earlier.

My doctor has scheduled my induction (not into any elite society, as Lil erroneously believed...) for June 16th! It's nice to have 11 days whacked off the end of my pregnancy just like that...

And, that means we now have less than four weeks to go!

Oh, and he still says she's going to be on the big side. That was not on my wish list -- I love itty-bitty babies, but I must say the bigger ones do seem to be less prone to jaundice, which is a gigantic plus.

yay how exciting... isn't it nice to know exactly when you will be having the baby instead of an unknown possible date? Unless of course your baby decides to come sooner which would be a pleasant surprise for you, i'm sure. I can't wait to hear the good news in a few weeks... I'm excited for you.

Yea Jen! You get your baby sooner! That's always good news. I forgot Lil was staying with you for the summer. That will be nice to have extra help. Tell her HI.

Exciting times man! Wow, what a weird/exciting/unreal feeling to know when your baby was going to be born. Good luck! I'm happy for you that you get to "whack off 11 days".

induction scares me! but from what i hear, you have super fast deliveries, and you are a seasoned pro, so im sure it will be awesome! june 16th is a good date too!

I was induced with DJ and it was my least favorite birth experience. Not because of the intensity of labor (which is the normal complaint I hear), but because of the length. I was so bored and so hungry (they would only give me ice chips, so I had Derek go get me fast food and then went outside and ate it). I was also really tired of people telling me he wasn't going to come until the next day. This time I will insist that they start the Pitocin right away...

Jenn, just so you know, I scheduled an induction date and I still came on my own, so perhaps you will too. Also, there's nothing wrong with big babies. Forrest was 9 lbs, Nadia was 8 lbs. and Marek was 8 lbs and 13 oz. and they were all healthy and strong and didn't have that "alien" look about them when they were born. The itty-bitty babies that I've known (with the exception of Maylyn, Savannah's daughter) have all looked too fragile and sickly. I much prefer healthy babies, so who cares if she's "on the big side." I've never understood why people make such a big deal of how much the baby weighs. I tend to focus mostly on the cuteness and then on the healthiness (I know, I've got my priorities right where they need to be:) ) Anyway, I'll be praying you'll come early, on you own, as I was doing just a week ago! Good luck with it all.

I have only had one so I'm not an expert, but Rylie was an induction and I had absolutely no problems with it. In fact I think I will probably insist on being induced with my next one, especially seeing that Rylie was 9 pounds and I was still a week and a half or so away from my due date. I think I was progressing well enough that they didn't give me pitocin til I was at a 6 or so...or was it an 8? I don't remember. Everything went really fast for me...in at 6:30 AM for a few rounds of gel and walking, they broke my water after noonish sometime, epidural a little while later, started pushing about 10:15 or so (right after the Diamondbacks won their game with a homerun...I will always remember that cuz JJ was cheering at the TV when he should have been cheering for me, ha ha) and at 10:41 there she was.

I am excited it's only a few more weeks for you! Can't wait to see pics of the new little one!

That's awesome! I love getting to know the date when the baby will be here! Love even more having days shaved off the end! I had a c-section with Yazee and will with this one too. I got to pick the day with her and the same will go for this one. I'm just hoping my doctor will let me go even earlier this time! (Cross my fingers!) Nothing wrong with big babies, they are so cute and chubby! I love rolls! However, I had the normal size and left with an itsy-bitsy. Yazee was born at 7lbs 9oz. and was 6lbs 14oz when I left the hospital. I love that she was so tiny, it was..sweet. She seemed so precious because of her size. Oh, and she had no health issues (jaundice,etc.). Can't wait to see pics! Congrats on the 1 month to go!

Wow! By the time I read this (I'm a little behind on blogs - we've been on vacation), you only have 2 weeks to go! Yeah! I am so excited for you. Good luck with everything!
