We drove back to Idaho from Wyoming for Grandpa's funeral. It was nice to see so much family. It was amazing how many of them I didn't recognize. It's been a long time since I've been to a family function on that side of my family. Too bad it had to take a funeral to get us together.
A funny Jon moment from the funeral:
As we were in the funeral, the Relief Society was preparing a lunch for the family in the next room, so we could smell it through the whole funeral. Jon was ready to eat the second the funeral was over. Then he found out we were going to the cemetary first. He was not thrilled. He was even less happy when he found out we planned to walk (it's only a block from the church). When we "finally" got back to the church, Jon walked in ready to eat -- NOW. He announced that he was 'starving to death.' I told him he would live. He had to wait for the lunch to begin. He sat there looking at the food for a few moments, then said, "Mom, do you want to have to go to another funeral?" I laughed. He lived.
