Obviously, I cannot catch up on my blog. I'm sure it doesn't matter much anyway, since I imagine any readers I ever had have given up on me, but I wanted to put a few things on here.
I think everyone knows that we're expecting a baby soon! Our 4th little boy should be joining our family by January 5th. That's when I will be induced (if things go as planned) unless I go into labor sooner. I finally ordered a baby bed and have a few clothes, so I guess we're ready:) We gave all of our baby stuff away when we left Oklahoma, so we're getting to start over fresh. Pretty lucky sixth child, if you ask me, that doesn't have to use hand-me-downs.
We're still in Alaska. We'll be here until the end of 2012. The weather and city have not grown on me over the past year, but the people (especially in our congregation at church) are some of the most wonderful we've ever known, so we're happy here. I asked my kids if they wanted to stay here, move to Duchesne, or move to Sheridan when Derek leaves. They all chose stay. I guess I'm happy about that. I've known since we arrived that that's what I needed to do. I wish I could say I've learned to want it, too. If only winter weren't such a horrible creation! Nowhere else that I have ever lived do people say things like "at least it's only 16 below today."
Derek leaves for Afghanistan next spring. It's starting to feel really close. I expect we'll start hearing actual dates soon. I guess I'm glad of that. It's going to happen one way or the other and it will be nice to start planning more specifically. Right now, I'm just in the dreading-it state...
I shall try to get back to blogging more often. We'll see how I do...

I still follow your blog. :) I still miss you, too. Your kids are gorgeous, and I'm excited for your 6th. Our 6th gets all sorts of new things, too. It's fun for Mommy. Hang in there, beautiful. You are amazing!!
yay! I'm glad you updated!! I missed reading your blog!! Exciting about the baby coming soon! Have you settled on a name yet? Good luck with that if you haven't.... Also i can't believe a good day is 16 below!!!! I get freaked out when it's 16 above here!!
Wow, that really is just around the corner for your baby! Yay! As far as the weather, I also would struggle with that! I'm sure you really have to work at having sunshine in your heart to make up for the lack of it in the sky! Good luck with everything: baby, the freesing cold winter, and Derek going to Afghanistan.
congratulations!!! i hadn't heard! Thank you for being so generous when you moved... we still use all the things you gave us. Thank you so much. Wish you were closer so we could let you have them back if you need them!!! Hugs!
Nice to have you back! Congratulations! I didn't know you were pregnant. 4 boys & 2 girls is the exact opposite of my family. Funny. Can't wait to hear more!
I'm so glad you posted again! I've been letting my blog slide more and more too but I still check in on everyone else periodically.
I have to agree with your sentiments about winter. And every year I seem to dislike it even more. I don't know how you are managing in a place that cold--I'm freaking out because next week we're supposed to be dropping into the teens for the daytime highs. I guess I should just imagine Alaska and feel better that it's ONLY that cold.
I don't want Derek to go either Jenn!
I like the family photo.
Love, Aunt Sharon
