Summer is here

Well, Jonathan and Janina are out of school for the summer. We kicked it off with an extreamly busy last day of school. The PTA had our last fund raiser of the year, we went to McDonald's and got 20% of all sales between 5-7:00. In exchange, they got to use our Tax Exemption number and we had to bus tables. All in all it went well and we made a good amount of money.
I was only able to stay an hour because I had to take Janina to a "Father/Daughter" camp out. I wouldn't have a problem on a normal day, but we just did the Father/Son last weekend, and I hadn't quite recovered form it, to just go right into it again. It was taxing on me and Jenn. Janina had a great time though.
Some contrast between boys and girls camping: The boys were a lot louder than the girls and they ate a ton more. The boys were trying to catch lizards, while the girls were picking flowers to bring home to their mothers.
I had an easier time with Janina, but I only have (for now) one daughter and she's a lot easier to keep track of than my three boys.
We're looking forward to doing some summer activities with my family, having a baby, going to California, Utah, and Arizona. I'm not looking forward to Army Summer Camp at Ft. Lewis Washington. I'll be there from June 23 to July 25th. After that my summer truly begins.
Have a great summer, next year we'll have more to celebrate with three kids out of school, of course we'll be moving, so it won't be as fun.

Glad to hear your summer has come, it's still so bizarre here. OH, and you said you were moving next year-where to?

yes... i agree with ariana, the weather is crazy this year. (I live in S. Ogden, close to where she lives) It's either cold and rainy or hot. There hasn't really been an in between. We've already had to run the A/C and now were back to the heater on some days. I'd also like to know where you will be moving to next year.

I'll be commissioning as an officer next year and then on to some follow on training. I have to go to either Ft. Sill (preferable) Oklahoma, or Fr. Benning, GA (not preferable).
Then I have more training at another installation that I won't know until November. This will be my job training. Doing what I'm doing is like starting my career over again.
When all that training is done our family will move on to our next duty station. It can be anywhere in the world at this point. I'm hoping for San Antonio, TX or Germany. I should know where the family is moving to by February or March.
It's a different world we live in, we understand how it works, but I'm sure that you look at it and think that is weird and stressfully. We've grown accustomed to not knowing how things are going to work out until just a few month prior to the change.

I've heard about the weather in Utah, sounds crazy. I'd be getting sick, my body can't handle huge changes like that. The problem is that in Oklahoma that's common when winter transfers into summer.
I't would be odd however to still get snow this time of year, Lil told me that it was snowing in Logan last week.
It's been in the 100-120 degree range the last few days. I'm glad we're leaving for the summer. Of course we'll get to Utah and it will be cooking I'm sure.
By the way, when are you moving to Idaho Ariana?

That's fun that you guys have a Father/daughter campout too! Ours just had a Father & Sons one, and it was just a barbecue and games (no camping). Our ward is only 7 months old though, so maybe next year they'll be up to organizing a camp out. Who knows?
