This just in... Derek is going to Fort Sill, OK for his first 6 weeks of training. Still no word on where we go when he finishes training (in the middle of September).
We went swimming this afternoon. DJ hated it. Sadly, we have hardly had our kids in water since we left Korea. Back then he loved it, but he has no memories of that now. Combine that with his current irrational fear stage and it was almost impossible to get him in the pool. When we did, he didn't last long. He was, however, very happy to sit on the side and splash us. Naomi, on the other hand, loved the water! She kicked and splashed and had me thinking of parasites the whole time (she had to have had a lot of water to drink).
Happy Valentine's Day!

I loved the pictures! Naomi is getting so big these days. The cake picture gave me a good laugh. A funny lunch episode happened here too. Although not as many twists and turns as in your story. Yesterday Desi was in a lip sync at school at 9 am. So i had to get myself, the baby and Kassidy ready in the morning instead of just Desi and Brooklyn. So i had the lunch boxes set out with their rice krispy treats inside and an mini orange and Desi's pudding. Well when it neared time to go I said to Desi "well i need to hurry and throw the lunches together." She said oh don't worry we already did it. Oh and i try to pre-make the sandwiches the night before if i remember. So all they had to do was put them in. Well after school later on in the day, Brooklyn says to me, "nice trick mom" and i said what are you talking about? She said "the trick of no sandwich" I said You didn't get a sandwich in your lunch? And she said no. Well come to find out when Desi and she were assembling the lunches she didn't know that Desi or I hadn't put her sandwich in. Oh well she had one nutritious thing ... the orange, but that's about it especially since it was the class valentines party that day!! Oh well and also a random funny fact that's just kind of related to your lunch story, but not mine exactly, is that we just happened to have a angel food cake loaf in our fridge that day! It didn't end up in a lunch but still strange since i so rarely have those in the house. I think it cursed the lunch making!! ha ha
Cute photos! I love the matching shirts, and the picture of Naomi in the snow. She really looks like she's having a good time! I loved all the pictures, really, and it gave us a good glimpse of what's been going on in your busy life! I need to take my kids swimming sometime. Our pool is indoor, but I'm just not motivated to get everyone in swimsuits when it's so cold outside! But then they'll lose what they gained over the summer. Maybe one of these days . . .
It was good to see that you are still alive! I loved the pictures and I too think that is the best story ever about lunch. I STILL laugh about it.
I can't believe how much Naomi has grown!
Allow me to make a random comment on you random post! (Sorry I don't do better at commenting; I do check your blog quite often.)
You just have some darling kids. I'm sure you are aware of that but from an outsider's point of view, I have to say they are mighty cute. Naomi is getting so big (or bigger since she was never very little to begin with) and that picture of her in the snow is too cute. I love the matching sweaters too. Lynnsey LOVES to wear her matching sweater with Kaya and she asks me all the time to buy them more matching things. I have to admit, it is fun to dress them alike.
I so wish we lived closer to each other! I think our kids are so similar in ages and personalities, it would just be fun to have them get to know each other. Michigan probably isn't in your near future is it???
Thank you for the update:) I love the pictures as well. Naomi is so big and adorable. I love the first picture of the two girls...so cute!! I think Naomi looks a lot like you by the way. I miss you all so much and I can't wait to see you! Also, I just loved the conversation Jon and I had the other day. He is so cute. I felt terrible telling him I had to go. I love you all!!
I love the pictures. Naomi's cheeks are so chubby! Too cute. Preston used to hate water too, until just recently. He loves it now so maybe it's a phase and DJ will out grow it. You can hope anyway. :)
How random! ;)
