Playing at the Lake

This is my smilebox experiment. I didn't add any text and didn't arrange the pictures much, but I thought I'd share, since it's pretty cute (at least in my opinion).

Memories

I've had so much fun reading and remembering as I've browsed blogs that I decided to try it. Oh, and, in case you haven't guessed, Derek's parents (we are in CA now) have high-speed internet and I am loving it!

Here are the instructions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. (It can be Jenn, Derek or both). It doesn't matter if you knew me/us a little or a lot; anything you remember.
2. Next, re-post these instructioms on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Poulson Cousins

Here are some of my favorite cousin pictures. Jonathan, Janina, Michael, DJ, James, Kyrene, Ruby, Cora and Naomi are all pictured several times.

Derek came back

And Naomi grew. He didn't think Naomi looked that much bigger, but I did... Here are the before he left and after he came back pics:

Shhh...it's a quiet book

Alas, I have been a bit remiss --- I promised Meg pictures of the quiet books Mom and I made for my kids. I really did mean to put them on that day... (Sorry.) The football didn't have a lace when the picture was taken, but does now. We also put a felt basketball, soccer ball and hockey puck inside it.

By the way, my kids love these!

A Glimpse into our Summer

I thought I'd put a few pictures of our summertime activities, while I'm sitting here in my car outside the Logan City library, using their wireless access. I figure I have another half hour before my computer runs out of battery. (I've been enjoying this chance to catch up on the blogging world -- I've discovered a lot of new blogs that I'm very excited about...)

Here you see a cute pair of twin dresses. Meg received them when her girls were born. Unfortunately they were two different sizes, but we were able to make use of them anyway! Pictured are Lil (my cute lil sis), Cora (Meg's younger, though bigger, twin), and Naomi.

We were able to spend a few hours with Ashley and Trevor at Ashley's parents' house. (She had 3 of her boys with her,) Ethan is four days older, 3 or 4 pounds lighter, and a couple of inches shorter than Naomi. He was so easy to carry around (that's what I love about little babies -- but, no worries, I do love my giant.)

Here's Grandpa Poulson with all of his grandchildren (and the top of one child's head -- Kyrene really didn't want to be a part of this picture). For a few short hours my parents had all of their children (plus Cynthia, but no sons-in-law) and grandchildren together. The last time that happened was back when they only had four grandchildren (all children of mine).

Well, my battery is getting really low, so I'll end with that. I'll put more on another time (hopefully soon).

Oh, I almost forgot to post -- I'm picking Derek up this evening in Salt Lake!

Spending Time with Family

So, Naomi was born, Lil came to Oklahoma (Jun 18th), Derek left for Ft. Lewis (Washington -- Jun 23rd), and Lil and I drove with five kids to Utah (Jun 24th-25th). We have been having a great time seeing grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts and uncles, and assorted other family and friends. Next week we'll have all of my parents' children and grandchildren together for the first time ever. Unfortunately we will be missing all of the sons-in-law. It's hard to get spread out family together...

Derek gets to Utah on the 25th and we will head for California a week later. We'll be returning ot Oklahoma (via Phoenix) in the middle of August.

Unfortunately, we are not within easy access of the internet (I'm spoiled -- I do not consider dial-up easy access...), so I haven't been on to post. Sometime in the next little while I will try to find a faster connection so I can post some updated pictures, but until then, I thought I'd at least let you all know what we are up to. I hope all of you are enjoying your summer!
